Squaw Valley opened in 1949 with one chair lift, a rope tow, and a lodge. Today, Squaw Valley USA is one of the world's premier destination resorts with year-round recreation and first-class accommodations. High Camp is located at the top of Squaw Valley’s aerial Cable Car. This facility is available year-round and is complete with a mountain top Olympic sized Ice Skating Pavilion, Swimming Lagoon & Spa, Olympic Museum, restaurants and snowtubing.
Squaw Valley base is located at 6200 feet (1890m) and the top of the field is at 9050 feet (2758m). The field has good intermediate terrain. The main mountain access is via the Gold Coast Funitel, the first of its kind in North America.
The field boasts a range of terrain parks.
For smaller kids and those new to pipes and parks, the Belmont park features: 3 small jumps; 2 small flat bar rails; 1 small table bar rail; 1 small rainbow rail; 2 small rainbow boxes; 2 small flat boxes.
The mainstay of Squaw's evolving pipe and park areas, the Riviera Park is built for more intermediate riders, complete with a full size halfpipe, tables, jumps, rails, boxes, and more, all accessed via a dedicated lift. Riviera Halfpipe- 225’ – 250’ long- 9’ – 10’ walls- 12 degree pitch- Riviera Pipe open for night riding (until 9pm) 4-5 rail set-ups in the park (rotated every 2-3 weeks) including:- 20’ single bar rail- 20’ double bar rail- 20’ table top rail- 20’ C rail- 20’ rainbow box- 20’ flat box.
Central Park is located just below the top terminal of the Funitel.
Ford Freestyle Superpipe & Terrain Park
The Ford Freestyle/Mainline area is the home of Squaw's Superpipe placed in a location overlooking Lake Tahoe. Just below the pipe are a selection of rails and an expansive wide open area of tables and jumps. Mainline Superpipe- 550’ long- 17’ walls- 18 degree pitch
Jumps & Rails: You will find a selection of jumps and rails, including a squirley rail.
